How Your MONEY STORY Blocks (or Increases) Your Money Flow | Episode 031 of The Woman Entrepreneur Podcast

Do you know that your MONEY STORY determines the amount of money you have in the bank?
As a kid, you learned to absorb other people's beliefs about money. Everything you were told and experienced as a child, programmed your money mindset as an adult. This programming is what creates your MONEY STORY.
Unfortunately, most of us were programmed with a lot of toxic beliefs about money.
For example:
- “Money doesn’t grow on trees.”
- “Stop being so selfish” (when you wanted something).
- “Don’t be greedy.”
- “Be grateful. Some kids are starving.”
- “Rich people are greedy jerks.”
- “Be happy with what you have.”
- “Work hard, get good grades, get a good job, and then someday you can retire and enjoy life.”
- “We can’t afford that.”
- “It’s just the way it is.”
- “There’s never enough.”
- “That’s for those people” (a life of ease, several vacations a year, owning a house, investing, having a housekeeper, etc.).
So, now, as an adult, you have MONEY BLOCKS.
And until you learn to breakthrough your money blocks, your financial reality will feel out of your control. Meaning… no matter how much effort you put into your business, you won’t make the money you say you want to make.
To breakthrough your money blocks, you've got to QUESTION EVERYTHING you believe about money.
Here are 6 questions to help you get started:
- What’s my first money memory?
- What did my parents tell me about money?
- What did I learn about money and relationships?
- How did my parents treat “poor” people? “Wealthy” people?
- Finish the sentences:
Wealthy people are ______.
Poor people are __________.
Making money is ________. - What do I believe about money today?
Journal about these questions to bring your unconscious money beliefs to your conscious awareness. Then you can decide whether or not they're money beliefs you want to keep or drop so you can uplevel your income.
